Eric Holmes May, born 1960. From 1977-1980, served in the U.S. Chemical Corps in the 1st Cavalry Division, holding ranks from private to sergeant. In 1980, entered the University of Houston Honors College, and while there received  commission as a second lieutenant (December 15, 1983). Completed my degree in Classics (Latin & Greek) in 1985.
