DARK SAYINGS
PSALMS 49-4 I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark
saying upon the harp.
PSALMS 78-2
I will open my mouth in a parable: I will
utter dark
sayings of old:
PROVERBS 1:5 and 6 A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and man of
understanding shall attain unto wise counsels: To understand a
proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their
dark sayings.
Psalms 25:14 The secret of the LORD [is] with them that fear him; and he will
shew them his covenant.
Daniel 2:21-22 And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and
setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to
them that know understanding: He revealeth the deep and secret
things: he knoweth what [is] in the darkness, and the light dwelleth
with him.
Matthew 13:34-35 All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables;
and without a parable spake he not unto them: That it might be
fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my
mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret
from the foundation of the world.
Daniel 8:23-24 And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the
transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and
understanding dark sentences, shall stand up. And his power
shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy
wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the
mighty and the holy people.
Numbers 12:5-8 And the LORD came down . . . and called Aaron and Miriam: . .
.and he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, [I]
the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, [and] will speak
unto him in a dream. My servant Moses [is] not so, . . . With him will
I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches;
and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold:
